NEMA Emergency response teams and security agencies swiftly mobilized on Monday following an explosion at a bus stop in front of the Mogadishu Cantonment along Abuja-Keffi Road.

The incident, which occurred at approximately 1:47 p.m. on May 26, 2025, prompted an immediate deployment of personnel from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). The agency confirmed that its Emergency Response Bay (ERAB) team based under the AYA bridge intersection was activated shortly after receiving the alert and arrived at the scene within minutes.

Upon arrival, NEMA operatives joined security forces already on ground to cordon off the area and assist in evacuating injured persons to nearby hospitals for treatment. The site was subsequently secured to allow for ongoing investigations by relevant security authorities into the cause and nature of the explosion.

The joint operation, which concluded at approximately 5:29 p.m., involved coordinated efforts from NEMA, the Nigerian military, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

As of press time, no official casualty figures have been released, and security agencies continue to investigate the incident.
