The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, has urged religious leaders to partner with the Federal Government to enhance national security and unity, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda. Akume made this appeal while meeting with a delegation of clergy members from the Northern Pentecostal and Charismatic Bishops Communion of Nigeria, led by Archbishop JohnPraise Daniel, in Abuja.

During the meeting, Akume highlighted the significant role religious leaders play in society, emphasizing their responsibility to support government initiatives aimed at promoting interfaith harmony and peaceful coexistence. He praised President Tinubu as a leader dedicated to inclusivity and national cohesion, noting the administration’s balanced appointments that reflect Nigeria’s diversity.

Akume stated that President Tinubu is a true patriot who champions unity and ensures inclusive governance, pointing out notable progress in areas such as education, infrastructure, economy, and security under his administration.

He also underscored the improvements in security since President Tinubu took office and reiterated the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen security measures to combat insurgency and communal violence.

In response, Archbishop JohnPraise Daniel expressed deep gratitude to President Tinubu for establishing the Federal University of Applied Science in Kachia, Southern Kaduna.

He commended the government’s commitment to economic development and its efforts to improve security, which have boosted agricultural productivity and contributed to a reduction in food prices.

The meeting concluded with prayers for the continued success of President Tinubu’s administration and the nation’s progress.
