In a bid to ensure a peaceful and secure Ramadan, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police command has issued a warning to residents, highlighting potential risks and offering safety guidelines to mitigate them.
While highlighting car theft, home burglaries, and online scams as potential threats during this period, the Commissioner of Police Olatunji Disu recommended that motorists park in well-lit areas near mosques and avoid leaving valuables in their vehicles, especially during Taraweeh and Fajr prayers.
He also stressed the importance of securing homes by locking doors and windows, particularly during early morning hours when burglars are most active.
Additionally, residents are cautioned against falling prey to fake charity scams and to ensure all online transactions are secure.
The police have vowed to intensify patrols and work closely with community leaders to guarantee a safe and incident-free Ramadan. Through these enhanced security measures, the FCT Police Command seeks to provide a tranquil and secure environment for residents to observe the holy month.
