The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA)  has received reports of a dynamite explosion that occurred in the early hours of Sunday, January 26, 2025, at approximately 7:30 am, in a residential area of Sabon Pegi, Mashegu Local Government Area of Niger State.

According to a press statement made available to newsmen by the NEMA head of public relations, “the dynamite that exploded was stored by a local artisan miner in a rented apartment used to accommodate his workers. The blast resulted in damage to property and affected some residents in the area.”

Meanwhile, NEMA’s Minna Operation Office has joined forces with the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA) to respond to the incident, ensuring a coordinated effort to provide aid and support to those affected.
