The statement was made during the recent POWA Annual Convention held at the POWA National Secretariat, Mambila Barracks, Abuja.
This was disclosed in a statement made available to newsmen by the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
The 3-day Convention, held from December 5-7, provided a platform for empowering numerous women and children from police families, promoting their welfare and well-being.
The POWA President, Dr. Mrs. Elizabeth Egbetokun, reaffirmed the organization’s dedication to empowering not just police officers’ wives, but the entire community, through valuable skills training and acquisition programs. She reflected on the remarkable success of POWA’s 60th anniversary, which celebrated the graduation of 110 participants from the POWA Skills Acquisition Center in Dei-Dei, Abuja. This achievement underscores POWA’s commitment to fostering economic growth, promoting entrepreneurship, and enhancing the overall well-being of police families and the broader community.
“POWA remains committed to its mission of advocating for the welfare of police families through education, skill development, and mutual support.
“The Association invites all community members to participate in future programs that aim to uplift and empower all women.
“Together, through goodwill and unity, we can foster an environment that nurtures growth and prosperity for all” She said.
