President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the reinstatement of M.S. Danjuma, Permanent Secretary, Finance (Special Duties), Federal Ministry of Finance, following the lifting of his suspension over an investigation into the activities of a purported government agency.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Olumuyiwa Enitan Abel, conveyed the President’s approval in a letter dated October 22, 2026, with reference number HCSF/3023/Vol.III/124, directing Danjuma’s recall and reinstatement with effect from October 21, 2026.
Danjuma was suspended on August 21, 2026, alongside two other permanent secretaries, following a report by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) concerning the activities of an alleged agency known as the National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office.
The purported agency was allegedly promoted by George Buchi Nwabueze, with the suspected active involvement of some public servants in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).
Following due diligence, President Tinubu approved the lifting of Danjuma’s suspension and directed the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation to recall him to resume his official duties immediately.
The reinstated permanent secretary is expected to discharge his responsibilities in accordance with the extant Public Service Rules, applicable regulations and ethical standards governing the Federal Civil Service.
