The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has celebrated its Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, on her 64th birthday, commending her commitment to public service, diaspora engagement and national development.
According to an official statement signed by Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Director of Media, Public Relations and Protocols at NiDCOM, the Commission’s management and staff described Dabiri-Erewa as an “Amazon” whose resilience, courage and purposeful leadership have continued to advance the interests of Nigerians at home and abroad.
Born on October 11, 1962, into the Erogbogbo family in Ikorodu, Lagos State, Dabiri-Erewa has remained committed to strengthening Nigeria’s relationship with its citizens in the diaspora, particularly through initiatives aimed at harnessing their resources, expertise and investments for national development.
The Commission noted that under her leadership, it had continued to promote diaspora participation in nation-building, encourage investment in Nigeria and advocate for the welfare and protection of Nigerians living abroad.
It added that her commitment to building stronger connections between Nigerians in the diaspora and their homeland underscored the importance of diaspora engagement as a catalyst for sustainable development.
NiDCOM described Dabiri-Erewa as a symbol of determination and service, noting that her passion for the Nigerian project and advocacy for Nigerians making meaningful contributions across the world continued to inspire colleagues, families and stakeholders.
As she marks the milestone, the Commission wished her renewed strength, sound health, wisdom and greater accomplishments in the years ahead.
