The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved fresh postings of Police Public Relations Officers (PPROs) and Public Relations Liaison Officers to selected commands and formations of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) as part of efforts to strengthen strategic communication, improve public access to credible information and enhance media engagement.
According to an official statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Anietie Iniedu, the postings are aimed at improving police-public relations, promoting transparency and ensuring the timely dissemination of verified information on the activities of the Force.
Under the new deployment, SP Johnson A. Doghudje has been posted as Police Public Relations Officer for Zone 5, while SP Ojedele Olanrewaju Tunji, ANIPR, has been assigned to Zone 11, Osogbo.
Similarly, DSP Orchia Adndongu has been posted to the Benue State Police Command, while DSP Imah Unwana Victor has been deployed to the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC).
The posting also saw ASP Abdulaziz Maharazu assigned to the Police Academy (POLAC), while ASP Yusuf Adamu Aliyu has been posted to the Yobe State Police Command.
In addition, ASP Haruna Rashid Umar Abdullahi has been appointed Public Relations Liaison Officer for the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Gombe State.
The IGP charged the newly posted officers to uphold professionalism, responsiveness and accuracy in the discharge of their duties, stressing the importance of providing timely and verified information to the public.
He also urged them to sustain constructive engagement with journalists, stakeholders and members of the public to strengthen confidence in police operations and improve public understanding of the Force’s activities.
The Nigeria Police Force encouraged members of the press and the public to contact the respective officers for verified information and enquiries concerning police activities within their areas of responsibility.
The Force reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening transparency, effective communication and constructive stakeholder engagement as essential elements of people-centred policing.
