The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has continued search and recovery operations following the crash involving its ATR 42 aircraft, NAF 931, in Igbokoda, Ondo State.
According to an official statement signed by the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the operation is being led and coordinated under the direction of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Aneke.
Aneke commended the dedication and professionalism of NAF personnel involved in the operation, as well as the support provided by the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigeria Police Force, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Ondo State Government and other agencies and stakeholders.
He also acknowledged the contributions of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Amotekun Corps, Hi-Tech Construction Company, local authorities, community leaders and volunteers to the ongoing search and recovery efforts.
The CAS said the coordinated response demonstrated the strength of inter-agency cooperation and collective national service in times of adversity.
Aneke reaffirmed the NAF’s commitment to pursuing the recovery operation diligently and safely, in close collaboration with all relevant stakeholders.
He assured the public that appropriate updates would continue to be provided as the search and recovery operation progresses, while appreciating Nigerians and other stakeholders for their solidarity, prayers and support.
