The Military Pensions Board (MPB) has commenced the implementation of newly approved pension rates for military pensioners following the adjustment arising from the new Minimum Wage.

According to an official statement signed by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Squadron Leader Aliyu Mohammed, the applicable pension arrears have also been processed and would be paid into the accounts of all military pensioners effective Friday, October 2, 2026.

The Board said the development marked the implementation of the new pension rates approved following the Minimum Wage adjustment, assuring pensioners that the outstanding arrears due to them had been processed for payment.

It expressed appreciation to military pensioners for their patience, understanding and cooperation throughout the implementation process.

The Board further reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the timely payment of pensions and continuously improving pension administration in recognition of the contributions and sacrifices of Nigeria’s military veterans.

Squadron Leader Mohammed said the Board would continue to prioritise effective pension administration and the welfare of military pensioners.
