The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has commissioned three blocks of six fully furnished classrooms at Central Pilot Primary School, Langtang, in Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau State, as part of efforts to improve access to quality education and strengthen civil-military relations.
The classrooms, commissioned on Wednesday, 8 July 2026, were constructed under the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke’s Special Intervention Projects initiative and coordinated by Air Vice Marshal NK Kumzhi (Retired). The intervention also included the provision of desks and chairs to create a conducive learning environment for pupils.
Representing the Chief of the Air Staff at the commissioning ceremony, the Chief of Civil-Military Relations, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, said the project underscores the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to promoting education, community development and national security through effective civil-military cooperation.
He noted that sustainable security can only be achieved when communities and security agencies work together, urging residents to continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible information to enhance peace and security.
Air Vice Marshal NK Kumzhi (Retired) described the project as the fulfilment of his long-standing desire to give back to the school where his educational journey began.
He said investing in education remains one of the most impactful ways of empowering future generations and fostering sustainable national development.
