The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), through the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), has recorded another significant breakthrough in the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign with precision airstrikes that destroyed a terrorist enclave at Yaganari in the Gezuwa general area of Borno State.

According to an official statement signed by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the successful operation was carried out on 10 July 2026 following credible intelligence indicating renewed terrorist activities and the concentration of fighters within the area.

The statement explained that the Air Component conducted Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions which confirmed the presence of terrorist structures and logistics hubs before launching a series of precision airstrikes against the identified targets.

The strikes destroyed the terrorist infrastructure and neutralised several insurgents, further degrading the group’s operational capability and restricting its freedom of movement and ability to regroup.

Reacting to the successful mission, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, commended the personnel involved for their professionalism and dedication, reaffirming the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to sustaining relentless offensive operations against terrorist elements across the country.

“The Nigerian Air Force will continue to deliver decisive air power in concert with surface forces to hunt down, disrupt and destroy terrorist elements wherever they may seek refuge. We remain committed to ensuring that terrorists have no safe haven and no opportunity to recover their capabilities,” the CAS said.

Air Marshal Aneke added that the Armed Forces of Nigeria remain firmly on course in consolidating the significant gains already recorded in the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign, stressing that sustained air offensives would continue to deny terrorist groups the ability to reorganise or threaten national security.
