The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Public Relations Unit has recorded a remarkable academic feat as two of its officers emerged as the Overall Best and Second Best Graduating Students at the Nigeria Customs Service Command and Staff College (NCCSC), Gwagwalada.

According to an official signed statement by the National Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Customs Service, Deputy Comptroller Abdullahi Maiwada, 50 senior officers successfully graduated from Senior Course 14 during a colourful ceremony held on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the Ahmed Makarfi Hall of the College.

The statement disclosed that Chief Superintendent of Customs Ridwan Yusuf distinguished himself as the Overall Best Graduating Student, clinching three additional awards in recognition of his exceptional academic performance, leadership qualities and outstanding professionalism throughout the course. Chief Superintendent of Customs Nuruddeen Sa’idu also delivered an impressive performance to emerge as the Second Best Graduating Student.

The outstanding achievement by the two officers underscores the professionalism, intellectual capacity and strategic competence of personnel within the Nigeria Customs Service Public Relations Unit, reinforcing the unit’s growing reputation for excellence beyond media and public communication responsibilities.

The statement noted that the accomplishment reflects the Service’s commitment to developing highly skilled officers capable of providing strategic leadership and effective administration in support of its mandate.

Their exceptional performance has also sparked expectations that, in line with established tradition at the College, the two officers may be retained as Directing Staff to mentor and train future participants of subsequent senior courses, further contributing to capacity development within the Nigeria Customs Service.

The Public Relations Unit described the achievement as a source of immense pride for the Service, noting that the officers have not only distinguished themselves individually but have also brought honour to the entire Nigeria Customs Service.

The statement congratulated Chief Superintendent Ridwan Yusuf and Chief Superintendent Nuruddeen Sa’idu on their well-deserved recognition, expressing confidence that they would continue to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, leadership and service excellence in their future assignments.
