The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested four suspects in connection with the violent farmers-herders clash in Gulma Town, Argungu Local Government Area, which claimed the lives of eight persons.
According to an official signed statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Kebbi State Command, SP Bashir Usman, the suspects have been identified as Adamu Madugu of Gulma, Musa Makera of Sauwa, Saidu Adamu of Sauwa, and Shafi’u Hamza of Gulma.
The statement disclosed that the suspects are scheduled to be arraigned before a competent court on charges bordering on Criminal Conspiracy, Unlawful Assembly, and Culpable Homicide.
The Command further revealed that efforts have been intensified to identify, apprehend, and prosecute other individuals linked to the incident who remain at large.
Reacting to the development, the Commissioner of Police, CP Umar M. Hadejia, assured the families of the victims and members of the public that the Command would pursue the case to its logical conclusion and ensure that all persons found culpable are brought to justice.
He urged residents to remain calm, law-abiding, and refrain from taking the law into their own hands, stressing that the police are committed to maintaining peace and order across the state.
The Commissioner reiterated the Command’s resolve to protect lives and property while ensuring justice for all affected persons.
The Police Command also assured the public that further updates would be provided as investigations into the incident progress.
