The leadership dispute within the Kano State chapter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been resolved following the intervention of the party’s national leadership, restoring unity after a brief period of internal disagreement.

According to an official signed statement by the Director General, NDC Social Media, Kano State Chapter, Adam Said Adam, the resolution was reached after a special meeting convened by the party’s national leadership under Senator Seriake Henry Dickson. The meeting had in attendance Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, former Governor of Kano State and National Leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, as well as Engr. Muhammad Sabo Bakin Zuwo, Vice Chairman, Northwest, alongside other senior party figures.

The statement noted that after extensive deliberations, the leadership affirmed that Hon. Husaini Isah Mai Riga will continue to serve as the Chairman of the NDC in Kano State, bringing an end to the dispute.

The development was described as a demonstration of political maturity and statesmanship, particularly highlighting the role played by the Kwankwasiyya leader in fostering reconciliation and preserving party cohesion.

Reacting to the resolution, Hon. Husaini Isah Mai Riga expressed appreciation to Senator Seriake Henry Dickson, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Engr. Muhammad Sabo Bakin Zuwo, and the people of Kano State for their support during the period of the disagreement.

He also tendered an apology to anyone he may have offended in the course of the crisis, seeking forgiveness and describing the outcome as a reflection of the wisdom and unity within the party’s leadership.

The NDC chairman further offered prayers for divine guidance for the party at all levels, expressing optimism for victory in forthcoming elections, as well as peace and progress for Nigeria.
