The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has expressed optimism that the resurrection power of Jesus Christ will restore peace in Nigeria and across the world.

In his Easter message, Adegbite said the resurrection of Christ remains a powerful symbol of hope and victory over evil, stressing that the same divine power can overcome the forces responsible for violence and instability in troubled nations.

The message was conveyed in a statement issued by the Director of Media and Public Relations of the commission, Celestine Toruka.

According to Adegbite, the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross restored the dignity of humanity and serves as a call for Christians to live lives of humility, righteousness and service to others.

“Let us shun moral arrogance, pride and sin, and live lives worthy of emulation. Life is a journey, not a destination, and we will give account of our deeds to God,” he said.

The NCPC boss also expressed sympathy with families affected by the recent Palm Sunday killings in Jos, noting that faith in the resurrection of Christ offers hope that peace will return to the affected communities in Plateau State.

He called on Nigerians to remain prayerful and support the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the country navigates its challenges.

Adegbite further urged citizens to remain law-abiding as the nation gradually approaches the 2027 general elections.

“Christ has risen! Let us embrace one another, irrespective of our religious beliefs,” he said, while encouraging Nigerians to promote unity, tolerance and peaceful coexistence.

He added that the Easter celebration should inspire believers to deepen their faith and strengthen their commitment to building a more peaceful and harmonious society.
