The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has called on corps members and staff to reflect the virtues of sacrifice, renewal, hope and love as they celebrate the Easter season.

The message was conveyed in an Easter goodwill statement released by the Director of Information and Public Relations of the scheme, Caroline Embu, who said the season presents an opportunity for members of the NYSC family to recommit themselves to the ideals of national unity and selfless service.

According to the statement, Easter remains a profound reminder of the core values that underpin the vision of the NYSC and the responsibilities entrusted to corps members across the country.

“Easter offers a profound reminder of sacrifice, renewal, hope and love, virtues that lie at the heart of the National Youth Service Corps. As we celebrate this sacred season, I encourage you to reflect these enduring values in your daily conduct and interactions as proud members of the NYSC family,” the Director-General stated.

The NYSC leadership also urged corps members to remain committed to fostering unity, tolerance and mutual respect in their various places of primary assignment.

“Let us continue to stand firm in our commitment to national unity, selfless service and mutual respect, drawing strength from our diversity. Through our collective resolve and shared sense of purpose, we can further advance the cause of a more peaceful, united and prosperous Nigeria,” the message added.

The Director-General further expressed optimism that the spirit of Easter would inspire renewed dedication among corps members and staff as they continue to contribute to national development.

“May the spirit of Easter renew our strength, deepen our sense of service and fill our hearts with hope and fulfilment. Nigeria is ours; Nigeria we serve,” the message concluded.
