The Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, has paid a courtesy visit to the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, where he formally congratulated the police chief on his appointment and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force.

Governor Eno, who led a high-level delegation from the state during the visit, commended the Nigeria Police Force for its sustained dedication to maintaining law and order across the country, describing the institution as a critical pillar in safeguarding national peace and stability.

He expressed confidence in the leadership of IGP Disu, noting that his appointment comes at a crucial time when the country requires strong and strategic policing to address emerging security challenges.

Accompanying the governor were the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah; Dean of Commissioners and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Frank Archibong; Commissioner for Internal Security, Gen. Koko Essien; Commissioner for Works and Fire Service, Prof. Eno Ibanga; Commissioner for Science and Digital Economy, Dr. Frank Ekpenyong; and the President General of the Arise with Renewed Hope Initiative, Engr. Uwem Okoko.

Responding, IGP Disu appreciated the governor for the visit and for the support shown to the Nigeria Police Force, emphasizing that cooperation between state governments and the police remains vital to effectively confronting evolving security threats.

The police chief reiterated that the Force would continue to strengthen its operational strategies through closer partnerships with state authorities and other stakeholders, stressing that collaborative security efforts remain essential to ensuring a safer environment for residents of Akwa Ibom State and Nigerians at large.

He assured the governor of the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to maintaining professionalism, improving operational effectiveness, and sustaining peace and stability across the country.
