The Nigeria Police Force in Nasarawa State on Monday carried out an environmental sanitation exercise and a medical outreach programme as part of activities to commemorate the National Police Day 2026.
The initiatives were organised by the Nasarawa State Police Command to promote community partnership and deepen public trust between the police and residents of the state.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Ramhan Nansel, the sanitation exercise was conducted across the state capital and the thirteen Local Government Areas of the state.
According to him, the clean-up exercise focused on motor parks and other public locations as officers joined residents in improving environmental hygiene within their communities.
Nansel added that the command also organised a medical outreach programme in the state capital to provide healthcare support to members of the public as part of the celebration.
He explained that the programmes were designed to reinforce the police’s commitment to community engagement and strengthen collaboration between security agencies and the people.
“These initiatives were aimed at strengthening community partnership and fostering trust between the Police and members of the public,” the statement said.
The Police Public Relations Officer further noted that activities marking the celebration would continue in the state.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Shetima Jauro Mohammed, has called on residents to actively participate in and support the remaining programmes lined up for the celebration.
The command said the ongoing activities are part of efforts to promote stronger police–community relations and reaffirm the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to public service and community safety.
