The successful rescue, which took place on Friday, 6 March 2026, followed a distress call reporting that several residents of the community had been abducted by suspected kidnappers.
Acting promptly on the intelligence, troops immediately mobilised alongside operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, local Forest Guards and members of the Neighbourhood Watch to track the criminals and secure the victims’ release.
Security forces advanced into the suspected hideout area where the victims were believed to have been taken and commenced aggressive search operations as well as fighting patrols across the surrounding terrain in an effort to locate the kidnappers.
