The Sokoto State Police Command has commended the Honourable Minister of State for Works, Rt. Hon. Bello Muhammad Goronyo, Esq., for facilitating the fencing of the Divisional Police Headquarters in Goronyo Local Government Area of Sokoto State, describing the intervention as timely and impactful.

The commendation was contained in an official statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media to the Honourable Minister of State for Works, in which the Police Command noted that the project will significantly enhance the security of the division while improving the operational efficiency, confidence and morale of officers and men serving in the area.

According to the Command, the fencing of the Divisional Headquarters will greatly improve the safety of personnel and police facilities, thereby strengthening effective policing and service delivery within Goronyo Local Government Area and its environs.

The commendation was formally conveyed in a letter dated 31 December 2025, signed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Umar Sokoto Abubakar, PSC, Department of Finance and Administration, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Sokoto State Command. The letter highlighted the urgent need to secure the Divisional Police Headquarters and expressed appreciation for the Honourable Minister’s swift and decisive response to the request.

Reacting to the commendation, Rt. Hon. Bello Muhammad Goronyo expressed sincere gratitude to the Sokoto State Police Command for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to sustained collaboration with security agencies in the interest of public safety.

The Honourable Minister assured that he remains committed to doing more in the provision of social amenities, security infrastructure and critical public facilities for communities, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, which is aimed at strengthening security, promoting development and improving the welfare of Nigerians.

He further emphasized that support for security institutions and community infrastructure remains a key component of sustainable national development and public safety.

The Sokoto State Police Command, in its message, also prayed that Almighty Allah would grant the Honourable Minister continued strength, wisdom and success in his service to the nation.
