The Nasarawa State Police Command has successfully rescued four abducted children and reunited them with their families following a discreet, intelligence-led operation carried out in collaboration with the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command.
The rescue followed a report received on 31 December 2025 at the New Nyanya Police Division in Karu Local Government Area, concerning the mysterious disappearance of the children under suspicious circumstances. Upon receiving the report, the Command immediately launched a thorough and intelligence-driven investigation to trace the whereabouts of the victims.
In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Nasarawa State Command, SP Ramhan Nansel, the police said actionable intelligence led detectives to the suspects’ hideout, where the children were safely recovered without any injuries.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the children were allegedly abducted by Abraham Asoje, aged 28, who reportedly conspired with Joy Bolaje, aged 29, both of Ado Junction, Karu LGA, Nasarawa State. The suspects were said to have kept the children in confinement before the timely intervention of the police.
Following their rescue, the children were promptly reunited with their families, bringing relief to their relatives and the community. Meanwhile, the Command disclosed that efforts have been intensified to track down and arrest other suspects believed to be connected to the crime and currently on the run.
The Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, psc, mnips, commended the professionalism, dedication and swift response of the operatives involved in the operation, noting that their actions once again demonstrated the effectiveness of intelligence-led policing.
He reaffirmed the Command’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property, with particular emphasis on the safety of children and other vulnerable members of society. The Commissioner also urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant and ensure proper supervision of their wards.
