Troops of Sector 2, Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), working in close coordination with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have intercepted two pick-up vans conveying logistics supplies suspected to be meant for Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in Borno State.

The successful operation followed credible human intelligence which indicated the movement of the items from Dapchi in Yobe State towards the Magumeri general area of Borno State. Acting swiftly on the intelligence, troops tactically deployed along the identified route and intercepted the vehicles before they could reach their intended destination.

In an official statement signed by the Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the military disclosed that a wide range of logistics items commonly used to sustain terrorist activities were recovered from the intercepted vehicles.

The items include two civilian vehicles, 31 spare tyres, 23 spare rims, two bicycles, 12 ignition key starters, three alternators, two bags of flour, one mattress, five bags of charcoal, 34 tubers of yam, two blankets, two nylons of garri, assorted adult and children clothing, one power bank, six mobile phones, as well as some cash in different denominations.

The drivers conveying the items were arrested at the scene and are currently in military custody alongside the recovered materials. According to the military, they are undergoing further interrogation to determine the extent of their involvement and to provide useful leads for ongoing counter-terrorism investigations.

The interception, the statement noted, highlights the effectiveness of intelligence-driven operations and the sustained collaboration between troops and local security partners in disrupting terrorist logistics and supply networks across the North-East.

Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed its resolve to deny terrorists freedom of movement, cut off their supply chains and continue to ensure the safety and security of law-abiding citizens in the region.
