Kana, Ezeamama assume duty as Permanent Secretaries in OSGF, pledge commitment to efficient governance

Two newly appointed Permanent Secretaries in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Dr. Abubakar Ibrahim Kana, mni, and Dr. John Chidiebere Ezeamama, have officially assumed duty as heads of the General Services Office (GSO) and the Cabinet Affairs Office (CAO), respectively.

Their resumption was announced in an official statement by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Segun Imohiosen, following separate handover ceremonies held at the OSGF.

Speaking during the brief ceremony, the new Permanent Secretary, GSO, Dr. Abubakar Ibrahim Kana, expressed readiness to work closely with management and staff to ensure the effective implementation of the policies and programmes of the Renewed Hope Agenda. He pledged strict adherence to extant rules and regulations in carrying out his statutory responsibilities. Dr. Kana further emphasised his intention to build a productive and harmonious working relationship across the Office, stressing that hard work and discipline would define his tenure.

Similarly, the new Permanent Secretary, CAO, Dr. John Chidiebere Ezeamama, expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, for the confidence reposed in him. He described the handover as the start of a renewed commitment to public service rooted in integrity, diligence and results. Dr. Ezeamama underscored the strategic importance of the Cabinet Affairs Office, noting its central role in supporting the effective coordination of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), the Council of State and the Nigeria Police Council to enhance stability, growth and good governance.

In their separate farewell remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Special Services Office and outgoing Permanent Secretary overseeing the GSO, Mohammed Sanusi Danjuma, and the outgoing Permanent Secretary, CAO, Dr. Emanso Okop Umobong, thanked the management and staff of the OSGF for their support throughout their service. They urged them to extend the same cooperation to the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries as they take on their duties.
