The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, on Thursday, 4 December 2025, commissioned the newly completed Nigerian Army Properties Limited (NAPL) Corporate Headquarters in Asokoro, Abuja, reaffirming his commitment to robust administration, enhanced morale, and the holistic development of Nigerian Army personnel.

Speaking during the unveiling, Lieutenant General Shaibu described NAPL as a critical partner in advancing his command philosophy aimed at transforming the Nigerian Army into a “more professional, adaptable, combat-ready, and resilient force capable of effectively fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities within joint and multi-agency environments.” He highlighted that the new headquarters not only reflects NAPL’s growth and strategic relevance but also underscores its continued role in supporting welfare initiatives for Army personnel and their families.

The COAS expressed gratitude to the Chairman of NAPL, Lieutenant General Lamidi Adeosun (Rtd), former Chiefs of Army Staff, the Group Managing Director, and other stakeholders whose vision and dedication have contributed to the Nigerian Army’s ongoing reforms. He also conveyed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering support to the service, which has been instrumental in achieving these milestones.

In his remarks, the Group Managing Director and CEO of NAPL, Brigadier General Isa Doma (Rtd), stated that the completion of the headquarters demonstrates collective resolve to strengthen operational capacity, improve staff welfare, and enhance service delivery. He commended officers, soldiers, staff, and partners whose commitment made the project a reality.

The state-of-the-art facility boasts a guest house, car park, worship centre, modern workspaces, a conference room, mini auditorium, internet infrastructure, and a 500 KVA transformer, among other amenities, providing a conducive environment for effective operations and administration.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by former Chiefs of Army Staff, Lieutenant Generals Tukur Yusuf Buratai (Rtd) and Faruk Yahaya (Rtd), the Chairman of NAPL, senior officers, and both serving and retired personnel from across the Nigerian Army.

The unveiling of the NAPL headquarters marks a significant milestone in the Nigerian Army’s efforts to modernise its infrastructure, strengthen personnel welfare, and reinforce its commitment to operational excellence.
