The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has carried out a series of precision air operations across Katsina and Borno States, neutralising multiple terror elements and frustrating an attempted ISWAP/Boko Haram offensive, in what has been described as one of the most decisive coordinated air–ground responses in recent months.

According to an official signed statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the latest operations formed part of intensified counterterrorism campaigns in the North-West and North-East. In Katsina State, NAF aircraft executed two major air interdictions on 27 November 2025 under Operation Fansan Yamma (OPFY) Sector 2.

The first strike, delivered at about 0630 hours, targeted the fortified base of a notorious terrorist kingpin responsible for serial kidnappings, violent attacks and livestock rustling across Kankara, Faskari and Malumfashi Local Government Areas. The aircrew, guided by real-time Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), engaged the location with precision munitions, successfully destroying the camp. Persistent ISR coverage enabled follow-on fires as surviving fighters attempted to flee into adjoining areas.

At about 1755 hours, a second coordinated strike was executed on another major terrorist enclave in Danfako, Faskari LGA. The air interdiction destroyed logistics hubs, structures, equipment and operational infrastructure linked to the group. Several terrorists were neutralised during the operation, further degrading their networks and denying them freedom of manoeuvre across the North-West.

In Borno State, NAF air power again proved pivotal as ground troops of the 28 Task Force Brigade, Sector 4 of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), repelled a coordinated multi-front ISWAP/Boko Haram attack on Chibok. As the terrorists attempted to regroup along their escape routes, NAF aircraft conducted four major precision strikes guided by real-time intelligence from troops on the ground. Additional engagements on fleeing fighters disrupted their withdrawal, inflicted significant losses and prevented the insurgents from reorganising for a renewed assault.

The synergised air–ground response, the statement noted, ensured that the attackers suffered substantial setbacks while the community remained protected from the attempted offensive.

The Nigerian Air Force affirmed that the latest operations reflect its unwavering commitment to precision engagements aimed at neutralising threats, restoring security and safeguarding the lives and property of citizens. It added that NAF will continue to collaborate closely with ground forces and other security agencies in ongoing efforts to restore lasting peace to every part of the country.
