The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, has charged Corps Members to uphold the core values of the Scheme throughout their service year and beyond. He gave the charge while addressing members of the 2025 Batch ‘C’ Stream currently undergoing the Orientation Course in Rivers State.
In a statement issued by the NYSC Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, the DG emphasised the importance of patriotism, integrity, efficiency, transparency, commitment and other positive virtues, urging the Corps Members to allow these principles to guide their conduct as Nigerians.
Brigadier General Nafiu also stressed the significance of teamwork, encouraging the young graduates to see themselves as one indivisible family united by the common goal of serving the nation. He commended them for honouring the clarion call and reminded them of their responsibility to contribute meaningfully to national development during and after their service year.
Earlier, the NYSC Rivers State Coordinator, Mr Moses Oleghe, briefed the Director-General on the situation in camp. He reported that the Two Thousand Five Hundred and Eighty-Six Corps Members deployed to the state had so far exhibited a high level of discipline, patriotism and commitment to the programme’s activities.
