By Nkechi Eze

The Nasarawa State Police Command has received 136 newly passed-out constables deployed by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, as part of the ongoing drive to strengthen manpower and enhance operational efficiency across the Nigeria Police Force.

In an official statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, the Commissioner of Police, CP Shettima Jauro Mohammed, psc, mnips, disclosed that the newly deployed officers have been immediately sent on a three-week Combat Operations Course at the Police Mobile Force Training College, Ende Hills, Nasarawa State. The intensive training, he said, is designed to improve their weapon-handling proficiency, tactical awareness, and overall combat readiness for modern policing challenges.

Addressing the officers before their departure, CP Shettima charged them to demonstrate high levels of discipline, professionalism, and commitment to learning throughout the exercise. He emphasized that the course would expose them to the rigours of field operations and prepare them to handle diverse security situations effectively and responsibly.

The Commissioner of Police expressed deep appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Egbetokun, for his unwavering commitment to police capacity-building and for deploying a substantial number of personnel to the Command. According to him, the fresh deployment would significantly enhance the operational strength of the Nasarawa Command and contribute to the ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security across the state.

He further assured residents that the newly trained constables, upon completion of their course, will be strategically deployed across various divisions and formations to complement ongoing operations aimed at curbing crime and ensuring the safety of lives and property.

CP Shettima reiterated the Command’s readiness to continue aligning with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police in building a professional, disciplined, and combat-ready police force capable of responding swiftly to emerging security threats in Nasarawa State and beyond.
