Renowned Nigerian photojournalist Aishatu Shateema Bukar, widely known as Aisha Rabo, has once again brought pride to the country by emerging as the 3rd Runner-Up at the African Empire Reality TV Show Season 3 – Heroes Edition, which held from July 29 to August 20, 2025.
Born in Bauchi State, Rabo has carved a niche for herself in journalism with a career spanning more than a decade. She currently serves as Defence Correspondent with OurNigeria News Magazine and OurNigeriaTV24, where her incisive reporting on national security issues has earned her professional acclaim. Before then, she worked as a reporter and marketer with Neptune Prime Online Newspaper and as a Public Relations Assistant at the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN), honing her craft in media relations, corporate communications, and audience engagement.
Her participation in the reality TV contest, themed “Heroes Edition,” revealed another side of her persona beyond the newsroom, one that resonates with charisma, resilience, and the ability to inspire. Through weeks of tasks, challenges, and public engagement, Rabo distinguished herself as a contender who connected deeply with audiences across Africa.
This feat adds to her growing list of recognitions. Earlier this year, she clinched the 17th edition of the Master at Photos Contest in April 2025, reinforcing her reputation as a leading voice in photojournalism. In 2022, she represented Nigeria at the Africa Security Watch Conference in The Gambia, further establishing her presence on the continental stage.
Speaking after the finale, Rabo expressed deep appreciation to her supporters: “This platform has given me a new opportunity to inspire others. Becoming 3rd Runner-Up is not just my win, it is for everyone who believed in me.”
Her journey embodies the story of resilience, excellence, and passion. From humble beginnings in Bauchi to the heights of international recognition as a journalist and now a continental reality TV star, Aisha Rabo continues to break barriers and affirm the power of African women to shine on the global stage.
