The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has taken another bold step in its reform drive to reposition Nigeria’s insurance industry by launching a newly redesigned and digitized website. The upgraded platform, which went live on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, is designed to enhance transparency, improve user experience, and provide seamless access to vital information on insurance regulations, policies, and industry developments.

In a statement issued in Abuja, the Commission explained that the redesigned website forms part of its wider digitization agenda, aimed at improving efficiency, accountability, and service delivery across the insurance sector. The initiative is also in line with the Federal Government’s broader push to modernize public institutions through technology-driven reforms.

The revamped website comes with a range of improved features. These include a more user-friendly navigation system that allows stakeholders and members of the public to easily locate relevant information, as well as dedicated sections for industry insights, updates on regulatory policies, and best practices shaping the Nigerian insurance landscape. It also hosts a library of NAICOM’s publications, guidelines, and reports, serving as a vital resource hub for operators, researchers, and policymakers.

In addition, the website provides a more accessible channel for direct engagement, with clear contact information for NAICOM officials, allowing stakeholders to make inquiries, provide feedback, and seek clarifications on regulatory matters.

Speaking during the official unveiling, the Commissioner for Insurance, Mr. Olusegun Ayo Omosehin, described the project as a milestone in the Commission’s ongoing commitment to transparency and industry growth. According to him, the redesigned website reflects NAICOM’s vision of leveraging digital tools to build trust, strengthen regulatory oversight, and foster a vibrant insurance sector that contributes meaningfully to Nigeria’s economic stability.

“We are excited to unveil our new website, which will serve as a valuable resource for the insurance industry, stakeholders, and the general public,” Omosehin said. “Our goal is to provide a platform that is informative, user-friendly, and responsive to the needs of our stakeholders. By improving accessibility and transparency, we hope to deepen public confidence in the industry and encourage wider participation in insurance.”

The launch of the redesigned website underscores NAICOM’s drive to align Nigeria’s insurance regulatory framework with global best practices. Over the past year, the Commission has been rolling out initiatives to improve market confidence, strengthen consumer protection, and expand insurance penetration in the country.

Stakeholders have welcomed the development as a timely intervention, noting that digital platforms have become critical tools for regulatory bodies in ensuring openness and efficiency. By integrating a more robust online presence, NAICOM aims to make vital insurance information available at the click of a button, while also supporting government efforts to promote good governance and the digital transformation of public services.

The public has been encouraged to explore the new website at www.naicom.gov.ng and engage with the Commission through its official digital platforms and social media channels.
