The Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has applauded Councillor Adekunle Osibogun for his recently published book “Constitutional Democracy in Africa,” describing it as a timely and insightful contribution to the continent’s democratic advancement.

According to a statement signed by NiDCOM’s Head of Media, Public and Relations, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Dabiri-Erewa gave the commendation during a courtesy visit by the re-elected UK councillor to the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.

The NiDCOM boss noted that the book underscores the importance of constituency representation in building intentional and accountable leadership across Africa. She commended Osibogun’s efforts in deepening public understanding of democratic governance and voiced optimism that the book would inspire broader civic engagement across the African continent.

Councillor Osibogun, who currently serves as Cabinet Member for Education and Children’s Services for Buckingham Ward in the United Kingdom and is a former Deputy Mayor of Buckingham Town, said he has embarked on a promotional tour of the book, starting in Nigeria and later extending to South Africa and Botswana.

He expressed sincere appreciation to Hon. Dabiri-Erewa for her support and for serving as a guiding light in the advancement of diaspora affairs in Nigeria. Osibogun also reaffirmed his commitment to fostering dialogue and knowledge-sharing on democratic governance, particularly in Nigeria and across Africa.

The visit ended with both leaders expressing common resolve to continue promoting constructive engagement among African stakeholders in order to strengthen democratic institutions and values continent-wide.
