The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to working closely with Nigerian youths to promote peace, stability, and national development, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
In an official signed statement Director, Information & Public Relations OSGF, Segun Imohiosen disclosed that the assurance was given by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, when a delegation from the Niger Delta Progressive Youth Leadership Foundation (NDPYLF), led by its President, Chief Diplomat Adam Ogomugo Marbo, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja. The statement was contained in an official release signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Segun Imohiosen.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary overseeing the General Services Office, Mohammed Sanusi Danjuma, Senator Akume stressed that the Tinubu administration is ready to engage the youth in promoting peace and unity across the country, noting that genuine development can only take root in an atmosphere of peace.
He further disclosed that the OSGF would work in collaboration with relevant Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), as well as the private sector, to empower young Nigerians. According to him, this will involve providing access to opportunities and creating a conducive environment that will enable them to actively contribute to the nation’s economic growth.
Earlier in his remarks, the National President of the Niger Delta Progressive Youth Leadership Foundation, Chief Diplomat Adam Ogomugo Marbo, reaffirmed the group’s commitment to mobilising youths from all six geo-political zones of the country towards unity, peace-building, leadership development, and empowerment for sustainable development.
