The Nigerian Military School (NMS) on Saturday, 9 August 2025, celebrated its 67th Passing Out Parade in grand style, with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, charging the graduating boys to remain disciplined, resilient, and patriotic as they move forward in life.
In an official signed statement, Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Nigerian Military School, Captain Grace Watirahyel Samuel, disclosed that the COAS, who was the Special Guest of Honour, congratulated the boys on their achievement, describing it as a testament to their hard work, resilience, and commitment to the values of duty, discipline, and patriotism.
General Oluyede noted that over the past six years, the boys had overcome physical and mental challenges that demanded their best. “You have learned the essence of teamwork, selflessness, and integrity. These experiences have shaped you into soldiers, guardians of our sovereignty, defenders of our democracy, and symbols of national pride,” he said.
Represented at the ceremony by the General Officer Commanding 1 Division, Major General Mayirenso Saraso, the COAS reiterated his Command Philosophy anchored on readiness, operational effectiveness, sound administration, and cooperation with stakeholders. He emphasized the importance of the “Soldier First” concept, which prioritizes the welfare and morale of soldiers, adding that the Nigerian Army has continued to invest in improving living conditions, welfare schemes, and career development policies for its personnel.
As part of the celebrations, various projects were commissioned, including the remodelled Calabar Company, NMS House, and PSOs’ House. The event concluded with a group photograph of dignitaries, capturing the spirit of pride, achievement, and unity that marked the day.
