Operatives of the Uyo Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested six individuals suspected to be involved in internet fraud in Akwa Ibom State.

According to an official statement signed by the EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, the arrests were carried out at the Ekamba and Ekpri Nsukara areas of Nwaniba, following actionable intelligence.

Four of the suspects were apprehended in Ekamba Nsukara, while the remaining two were arrested at Ekpri Nsukara.

The commission disclosed that the intelligence-led operation also led to the recovery of eight mobile phones and two laptop computers, believed to be tools used in perpetrating cybercrime.
