As Muslims across Nigeria and the world celebrate Eid-El-Kabir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has extended warm felicitations to officers, soldiers, and families of the Nigerian Army, commending their steadfast commitment, gallantry, and unwavering service to the nation.

In a goodwill message released on the occasion of the Eid-El-Kabir festival, the Army Chief praised the resilience and courage of Nigerian troops in confronting the country’s security challenges, describing them as a source of national pride and inspiration.

“Your unwavering commitment, selfless devotion, and unflinching resilience in defence of our fatherland are deeply appreciated,” General Oluyede stated.

The message was conveyed in an official signed statement by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anele.

The COAS noted that the spiritual essence of Eid-El-Kabir sacrifice, mirrors the daily reality of soldiers serving across theatres of operation. He urged troops to draw renewed strength and purpose from the significance of the season and to remain resolute in the pursuit of peace and stability for Nigeria.

Reflecting on the Army’s achievements in the past year, General Oluyede acknowledged the progress made in restoring peace in various parts of the country. He attributed these gains to the loyalty, professionalism, and unmatched bravery of Nigerian troops, many of whom have made great sacrifices in the line of duty.

“Many of our gallant warriors bear the marks of battle, some carry visible scars, others live with the memories, and some have paid the ultimate price in service to our great nation. We honour their legacies and stand with their families during this festive period,” he remarked. “Their heroism remains etched in our national memory.”

Reaffirming the Nigerian Army’s commitment to protecting the nation’s territorial integrity, the COAS stressed the importance of unity, discipline, and focus among personnel. He charged troops to remain mission-driven as they tackle evolving security threats across the country.

General Oluyede also expressed deep appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, for his unwavering support and strategic guidance in strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture.

As the festivities unfold, the COAS encouraged personnel and their families to observe the season with gratitude, humility, and renewed dedication to service, emphasizing that the Nigerian Army remains committed to defending the nation and upholding its constitutional responsibilities.
