The Chairman of the Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs and Emir of Lafia, His Royal Highness Honourable Justice Sidi Bage Mohammad I (Rtd), has commended the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) as one of the most transformative institutions established in Nigeria, describing it as a “game-changer” in the country’s road safety landscape.

The corps spokesperson ACM Olusegun Ogungbemide in an official signed statement disclosed that the commendation was made during the official working visit of the Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps, Shehu Mohammed, to Nasarawa State for the flag-off of a special nationwide patrol initiative, tagged Operation Sanity. An initiative designed to enforce traffic regulations and enhance safety during the high-mobility season.

Speaking at the engagement, the Emir noted that since its inception in 1988, the FRSC has distinguished itself through professionalism, dedication, and impact, stating that its establishment has brought hope to millions of Nigerians by significantly improving road safety and security.

“The FRSC’s innovative approaches, coupled with its committed personnel, have led to noticeable reductions in road traffic crashes and fatalities. These achievements underscore the Corps’ crucial role in making Nigerian roads safer for all users,” the Emir stated.

In response, the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, expressed appreciation for the unwavering support from the Nasarawa State traditional council and reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to maintaining the momentum of positive reforms in road traffic management.

He urged all road users to consider safety a shared obligation, calling on Nigerians to obey traffic rules, avoid reckless driving, and partner with the FRSC in promoting a culture of responsible road use.

The Corps Marshal thanked the Emir for his forthright remarks and affirmed that the FRSC would continue to evolve, innovate, and contribute meaningfully to national development. He emphasized that the Corps’ enduring legacy is one of professionalism, public safety, and national pride.

This development wash disclosed in an official signed statement by Assistant Corps Marshal Olusegun Ogungbemide, Corps Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps Headquarters, Abuja.
