In a bid to enhance inter-agency cooperation in the fight against economic and financial crimes, the Area Comptroller of the Nigeria Customs Service  NCS, Kano/Jigawa Command, Comptroller Dalhatu Abubakar, on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 paid a courtesy visit to the Zonal Director of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Kano Zonal Directorate, Commander of the EFCC CE Ibrahim Shazali.

In an official signed statement the EFCC’s spokesperson disclosed that during the visit, both leaders underscored the importance of deepening the existing collaboration between the NCS and the EFCC to curb illicit financial flows, smuggling and other economic crimes threatening the nation’s economic stability.

The Customs boss commended the EFCC for its relentless efforts in tackling corruption and financial malfeasance, noting that a stronger partnership between the two agencies would significantly improve intelligence sharing, joint operations, and enforcement.

“The Nigeria Customs Service is committed to working closely with the EFCC to block revenue leakages, dismantle smuggling networks, and ensure that perpetrators of economic crimes face the full wrath of the law”, he said.

He emphasized that: “Synergy between law enforcement agencies is critical in addressing the complex nature of financial crimes.
