According to Akume, the Civil Service plays a vital role in promoting national security by developing and enforcing regulations that safeguard the nation, as well as maintaining confidentiality on sensitive documents. This contribution according to the SGF is crucial in ensuring the country’s security and stability. Essentially, the Civil Service acts as a backbone in supporting the government’s efforts to protect its citizens and maintain national security through effective administration and implementation of policies.Additionally, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has released N500 million to support the welfare of ex-military personnel who have served Nigeria with distinction. This gesture aligns with his Renewed Hope Agenda, as announced by Senator George Akume. The donation aims to improve the lives of Nigerian Legion members, acknowledging their meritorious service to the nation. He lauded the patriotism and professionalism of the military in protecting the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and also maintaining peace in the country. He added that the security situation of the country has improved since the assumption of office of Mr. President in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.Rear Admiral Olumuyiwa Morakinyo Olotu, Commandant of the National Defence College, in his remarks, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s efforts to implement transformative policies and strengthen government institutions. These policies aim to enhance the institutions’ ability to perform their statutory duties. However, Olotu urged Nigerians to be patient, as some of these policies are long-term solutions that may not yield immediate results but will ultimately benefit the nation as a whole. In his remarks, the Commandant of the National Defence College, Rear Admiral Olumuyiwa Morakinyo Olotu said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reeled out transformational policies and strengthening government’s institutions to enable them carry out their statutory functions.
