DG SENSITIZES CORPS MEMBERS ON FOUR CARDINAL PROGRAMMES OF NYSC

Corps Members have been advised to participate actively in all the four cardinal programmes of the National Youth Service Corps in order to have a successful service year.

He listed the programmes as; Orientation Course, WPrimary Assignment, Community Development Service and Winding -Up/ Passing-Out Ceremony.

A statement made available to newsmen reads: General Ahmed said the programmes were structured to instill in them leadership skills, good morals, skill acquisition, core values of NYSC, patriotism, loyalty among others, starting from the Orientation Camps.

The DG this while addressing the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream One Corps Members at NYSC Cross River State Orientation Camp in Obubra.

While enjoining the Corps Members to avoid indecent dressing, especially while in the NYSC uniform and adhere strictly to the Scheme’s dress code, he said “Obey the NYSC bye-laws, maintain our dress code, respect the cultures and traditions of your host communities and maintain good integrity as ambassadors of your institutions, families and NYSC”. 

General Ahmed also warned them against associating with people of questionable characters that can land them in trouble.

While presenting her camp situation report to the Director General, the NYSC Cross River State Coordinator, Mrs Joke Oyenuga said all the 1,142 Corps Members comprising of 501 males and 641 females have been participating in all the Camp activities including the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development training.
