The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has described the Tinubu-Shettima presidential ticket as the best political combination for Nigeria’s future, urging Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 to sustain ongoing economic reforms and development initiatives.

Yilwatda made the declaration on Saturday at the Rainbow Coalition Presidential Campaign Rally held at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where President Tinubu was received by party supporters, political stakeholders and members of the coalition from across the state and the South-South region.

According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Information Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, the APC National Chairman said the Tinubu-Shettima ticket represented a combination of political experience, courage, capacity and tested leadership needed to address the country’s challenges and advance national development.

He said President Tinubu had demonstrated the political will to take difficult decisions in the national interest, particularly through the removal of fuel subsidy, unification of the foreign exchange market and other economic reforms aimed at addressing longstanding structural challenges.

Yilwatda acknowledged that the reforms had brought significant adjustments for households and businesses but maintained that sustaining the policies would enable the administration to consolidate its economic agenda and deliver greater benefits to Nigerians.

He also highlighted the Federal Government’s infrastructure programme, particularly major highway projects designed to connect different parts of the country, facilitate trade, reduce transportation costs and stimulate economic activities.

According to him, the projects extend beyond road construction, describing them as strategic investments in agriculture, commerce, industrialisation, tourism and the country’s long-term prosperity.

“We have a President who understands that development cannot happen without infrastructure. He has initiated an ambitious infrastructure revolution through major highway projects that will connect different parts of Nigeria, open up economic corridors, facilitate the movement of goods and services and create new opportunities for our people,” he said.

The APC chairman urged Nigerians not to lose sight of the long-term objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda, stressing that continuity was necessary to consolidate the reforms and ongoing development projects.

He described Tinubu as a reformer and performer, adding that the 2027 presidential election would provide an opportunity for Nigerians to decide on the continuation of the administration’s policies.

On the political situation in Rivers State, Yilwatda commended members of the Rainbow Coalition and other political stakeholders for their support for the President, noting that the emerging political alignment had brought together people across party affiliations.

He expressed confidence that Rivers State would deliver significant electoral support for Tinubu in 2027, citing the political mobilisation capacity of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, and other political leaders.

“Come January 2027, Rivers State will stand still. With the mobilisation capacity of the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, and other political leaders and stakeholders, we are confident that Rivers will deliver maximum votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Yilwatda said.

He expressed optimism that a renewed mandate would enable the administration to deepen its reform programme and advance its development agenda for the benefit of Nigerians.
