The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserves a second term in office, urging voters in Ekiti State to give him and other APC candidates overwhelming support in the 2027 general elections.
Yilwatda made the appeal on Thursday at the APC presidential campaign rally in Ado-Ekiti, where he joined Vice President Kashim Shettima, members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), governors and other prominent stakeholders to present the party’s candidates to the electorate.
According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Information Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, the APC chairman said Tinubu’s performance, reform initiatives and commitment to national development had justified the party’s call for another term for the President.
He expressed delight at the massive turnout and enthusiastic reception at the rally, describing the crowd as evidence of public confidence in the APC and its Renewed Hope Agenda.
Yilwatda described Tinubu as a performer and reformer, highlighting the administration’s policies aimed at repositioning the Nigerian economy, strengthening public institutions and creating opportunities for citizens and businesses.
He specifically cited the ongoing tax reforms, saying the new framework was designed to protect low-income earners and small businesses from unnecessary tax burdens while allowing them to retain more resources for personal and business development.
The APC chairman also highlighted the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), describing it as a major intervention to expand access to higher education and prevent financial constraints from denying eligible students the opportunity to pursue their academic ambitions.
He noted that eligible beneficiaries also receive a monthly upkeep allowance of ₦20,000 to provide additional financial support during their studies.
On infrastructure, Yilwatda pointed to major road projects in Ekiti State, including the Ado-Ekiti–Akure road connections and other completed and ongoing projects, as evidence of the Federal Government’s commitment to improving transportation networks and stimulating economic activities.
He maintained that the Tinubu administration’s development agenda was reflected in practical interventions rather than policy pronouncements alone, insisting that the government deserved the opportunity to consolidate its ongoing reforms.
Presenting Tinubu to the people of Ekiti State for another term, Yilwatda urged voters to support the APC across all elective positions, including the National Assembly and Ekiti State House of Assembly.
He argued that electing APC candidates into the legislative arms would strengthen cooperation with the Federal Government and facilitate the implementation of policies aimed at national development.
The APC national chairman also expressed confidence in the party’s nationwide structure and electoral strength, urging members, supporters and stakeholders in Ekiti to remain united and mobilised ahead of the 2027 elections.
He called on the electorate to renew their confidence in Tinubu and the APC, expressing optimism that the Renewed Hope Agenda would continue to deliver progress and shared prosperity for Nigerians.
