The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, has charged officers of the Nigeria Police Force who recently completed an international security training programme in Egypt to translate the knowledge and specialised skills acquired into more effective security operations in Nigeria.
Disu gave the charge on Friday, October 23, 2026, when he received a delegation of the officers, led by CSP Bukola Adedayo-Olajuyigbe, at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
According to an official statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, the officers recently completed a two-month International Security Training Course (ISTC) at the Police Academy Research Center in Cairo, Egypt.
The IGP congratulated the officers on the successful completion of the programme, commending their performance, discipline and professionalism throughout the training.
He urged them to apply the specialised knowledge and competencies acquired during the course to strengthen operational effectiveness, enhance internal security and improve public safety.
Disu also charged the officers to maintain high professional standards and ensure that the training translates into improved policing practices and more effective responses to security challenges across the country.
The engagement underscores the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to building the capacity of its personnel through strategic training programmes and international cooperation.
The Force maintained that continuous professional development remains essential to improving service delivery and strengthening its ability to protect lives and property.
