The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has recorded significant progress in the ongoing rehabilitation of the 330kV Kainji–Birnin Kebbi Transmission Line following the collapse of tower T367 along the line corridor.
According to the Transmission Company of Nigeria, restoration activities at the affected location in Yauri have advanced, with the collapsed transmission tower completely dismantled and decommissioned.
TCN said the conductors and skywire at the site have also been properly aligned and prepared for the next phase of the restoration work.
The company added that an Emergency Restoration System (ERS) tower has been moved to the site and is ready for installation, after which cable stringing and other associated works will commence.
TCN said its engineers and technical personnel remain fully engaged at the site, working to complete the restoration as quickly as possible and restore normal bulk transmission along the affected corridor.
The company appreciated the patience and understanding of electricity consumers and other stakeholders affected by the incident, assuring that every effort is being made to restore the transmission line and consequently normal bulk power transmission as soon as possible.
