The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has extended the commencement date of the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Orientation Course in Sokoto and Niger States due to ongoing renovation works at the Orientation Camps in the two states.
According to an official statement signed by Caroline Embu, Director, Information and Public Relations, the Orientation Course, which was earlier scheduled to commence on a different date, will now begin on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
The statement said the extension was necessitated by renovation works being carried out at the Orientation Camps by the respective state governments.
It added that the Cut-Off/Swearing-in Ceremony for the prospective corps members would hold on Friday, August 14, while the Orientation Course is scheduled to end with the Closing Ceremony on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
The NYSC management advised all Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) deployed to the two states to take note of the revised schedule and plan their journeys accordingly.
The Corps also urged the PCMs to avoid embarking on night journeys to their respective Orientation Camps as part of measures to ensure their safety.
The Director General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, wished all prospective corps members safe travels to their Orientation Camps.
