The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) have intensified efforts to strengthen inter-agency collaboration aimed at tackling cyber-enabled drug trafficking, financial crimes and other transnational organised criminal activities.
The renewed partnership took centre stage on Wednesday, 15 July 2026, when the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), CON, OFR, led a high-level management delegation on a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre in Abuja.
The NDLEA team was received by the Director of the Centre, Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Akaninyene Ezima, where both organisations explored practical measures to enhance cooperation in confronting increasingly sophisticated criminal networks operating in the digital space.
Discussions focused on expanding intelligence exchange, strengthening personnel training and leveraging advanced technology to detect, investigate and disrupt cyber-facilitated drug trafficking, financial crimes and other cross-border criminal enterprises.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both agencies to fostering closer institutional cooperation and harnessing innovation to improve Nigeria’s capacity to combat emerging cyber threats and safeguard national security.
