The Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, MON, has described former Deputy Governor of Zamfara State and former Senator representing Zamfara Central Senatorial District, Senator Hassan Muhammad Nasiha, as a close friend and loyal political ally, saying the death of one of his wives is a loss deeply felt by the entire All Progressives Congress (APC) family.
According to an official signed statement by the Chief Information Officer, Queenet Iheoma-Hart, for the Director of Information and Public Relations, the Minister made the remarks during a condolence visit to Senator Nasiha in Gusau, Zamfara State, following the death of Hajiya Hauwa’u Kulu Nasiha, who passed away in India on Saturday.
Dr. Matawalle said he travelled to the Zamfara State capital to personally sympathise with the former Deputy Governor and his family over the painful loss.
He described Senator Nasiha as a personal friend and committed party stalwart with whom he shared years of public service while serving as Governor of Zamfara State and Senator Nasiha as his Deputy Governor.
“The loss to Senator Nasiha’s family is a great loss to all of us. The demise of Hajiya Hauwa’u came as a shock and is deeply saddening. That is why I am here today to personally condole with Senator Nasiha and the entire family,” the Minister said.
Responding, Senator Hassan Muhammad Nasiha expressed appreciation to the Minister for the condolence visit, describing the death of his wife as shocking and an irreparable loss to the family.
Dr. Matawalle offered prayers for the repose of the soul of the deceased, asking Almighty Allah to grant her Al-Jannah Firdaus and give the bereaved family the strength, patience and fortitude to bear the loss.
The Minister was accompanied on the visit by Senator Sahabi Alhaji Ya’u, representing Zamfara North; former Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Mukhtar Ahmad Anka; former Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly and Federal Commissioner at the National Population Commission, Rt. Hon. Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya; the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC), Hon. Yazeed Shehu Danfulani; the Zamfara State APC Secretary, Hon. Ibrahim Maigandi; and other party leaders and associates.
