The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has entered into a strategic partnership with WorldQuant University to provide its workforce with free access to world-class educational programmes, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) courses and a Master’s degree in Financial Engineering.

According to an official signed statement by the Head of Corporate Communications of NIMC, Kayode Adegoke, the partnership is aimed at strengthening staff capacity and enhancing professional development across the Commission.

The statement noted that the collaboration reflects WorldQuant University’s recognition of NIMC’s critical role in advancing Nigeria’s national identity management system and supporting the country’s digital transformation agenda.

Speaking on the partnership, the Senior Vice President for Global Partnerships at WorldQuant University, Dr. Gbemi Disu, described the initiative as an investment in the human capital of a key national institution. She commended NIMC for its achievements and strategic importance in the nation’s development.

“This partnership will allow every NIMC staff member access to certified courses, including Artificial Intelligence programmes and the Master’s degree in Financial Engineering, at no cost,” Dr. Disu stated. “We are proud to support the Commission’s workforce in acquiring cutting-edge skills that will further enhance service delivery in identity management.”

Responding on behalf of the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of NIMC, Engr. (Dr.) Abisoye Coker-Odusote, the Director of Research and Development, Mrs. Carolyn Folami, welcomed the initiative and expressed appreciation to WorldQuant University for the opportunity.

She reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to excellence and assured that NIMC staff across all departments would take full advantage of the educational programmes to deepen their expertise, improve operational efficiency, and drive innovation in the discharge of their responsibilities.

The partnership is expected to provide NIMC employees with access to globally recognised learning opportunities designed to equip them with advanced technical and analytical skills relevant to the evolving digital landscape.

The collaboration underscores NIMC’s broader commitment to human capital development as a cornerstone of its efforts to build a robust, secure, and inclusive national identity ecosystem capable of meeting the demands of a rapidly changing technological environment.
