Troops of Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI have arrested five suspected kidnappers and recovered two AK-47 rifles, magazines, and ammunition during a successful operation in Magumeri Local Government Area of Borno State.
The operation, conducted based on credible intelligence, targeted a known criminal corridor within the area and led to the apprehension of members of a suspected kidnapping syndicate accused of terrorising residents.
Military sources disclosed that the troops recovered two AK-47 rifles along with magazines and ammunition during the operation, significantly disrupting the group’s operational capability and denying them the means to carry out further criminal activities.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects are linked to kidnapping and other criminal activities in parts of Borno State. The arrested individuals are currently in custody and are assisting security agencies with ongoing investigations aimed at tracking down other members of the syndicate and dismantling its support networks.
The successful operation underscores the sustained offensive by Operation HADIN KAI against terrorists, kidnappers and other criminal elements threatening peace and security in the North East.
The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property while maintaining relentless pressure on criminal groups to ensure lasting peace, security and stability across the country.
