The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s unwavering commitment to deepening inter-agency collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force as part of efforts to strengthen national security architecture.

Air Marshal Aneke made this known on 25 March 2026 while receiving the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, and his delegation during a courtesy visit to the Headquarters of the Nigerian Air Force in Abuja. He described the visit as both timely and strategic, noting that Nigeria’s evolving security landscape requires enhanced cooperation, intelligence integration, and coordinated operational responses among security agencies.

Congratulating the IGP on his appointment, the CAS described it as well-deserved, citing his professionalism, vast experience, and dedication to national service. He highlighted the longstanding partnership between the Air Force and the Police, particularly in counterterrorism, counterinsurgency, anti-banditry, and anti-kidnapping operations, as well as in the protection of critical national infrastructure. He assured that the NAF remains ready to further strengthen this collaboration to deliver improved operational outcomes across the country.

In his remarks, IGP Disu commended the Nigerian Air Force for its professionalism and decisive contributions to ongoing security operations nationwide. He noted that the Service’s airpower capabilities continue to serve as a critical force multiplier in combating insurgency and criminality. Emphasising the importance of sustained intelligence sharing, joint planning, and coordinated responses, the IGP stressed that contemporary security challenges demand unified institutional efforts.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to maintaining robust cooperation with the Nigerian Air Force in advancing internal security, safeguarding communities, and protecting national assets.

The engagement further underscores the growing emphasis on inter-agency synergy as a cornerstone for achieving lasting peace and security across Nigeria.
