The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has strengthened its strategic collaboration with Save the Children following a high-level courtesy visit by its Country Director, Duncan Harvey, to the Corps’ National Headquarters in Abuja.

The development was disclosed in an official statement signed by the NSCDC National Public Relations Officer, Assistant Commandant of Corps Babawale Afolabi, who noted that the visit further reinforced the longstanding partnership between both organisations, particularly in supporting the National Safe Schools Response Coordination Centre (NSSRCC), a critical hub dedicated to safeguarding educational institutions across the country.

During the engagement, the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, alongside his management team, held extensive strategic discussions with the delegation on expanding areas of cooperation. These include forthcoming support initiatives and preparations for an anticipated visit by founding partners from Norway.

Audi commended Save the Children for its sustained commitment to the safety of school environments in Nigeria, stressing that the partnership remains pivotal to strengthening the protection of students nationwide. He also highlighted key priorities aimed at enhancing the operational efficiency and responsiveness of the NSSRCC.

The visit featured a guided tour of the Centre’s state-of-the-art control room, where the delegation observed its real-time monitoring systems and rapid response capabilities designed to address threats to schools promptly.
